Exchanging timely updates over wireless network is gaining increasing relevance with the advent of technologies such as vehicular networks, internet-of-things, and futuristic network of unmanned aerial vehicles. Traditionally, packet delay has been used as a measure of information freshness. In this talk, I will discuss a recently proposed metric, called age-of-information (AoI), that measures information freshness. AoI measures the time since the last received packet was generated by the source. I will briefly present our recent results on minimizing AoI over a wireless network with general interference constraints.
